Guest feedback highlights the hotel's prime location near the Malecon and beach, with many appreciating the spacious rooms and traditional Mexican charm. However, some reviews note the hotel’s age and limited in-room amenities, which may not meet expectations for modern comforts. While the pool area and restaurant receive generally positive remarks, breakfast offerings appear to be simple and occasionally repetitive.

This place isn't real fancy, but the location is terrific. Right at the beginning of The Malacon. The breakfasts were a bit repetitive, but always well prepared. It's near many restaurants too, so lots of variety is available. The service was amazing--we had a problem with our safe and I stopped by the front desk to complain. There was someone at the door to our room before I got back to it! The staff were super efficient and our rooms were always made up every morning. Fresh towels and soap was provided daily.

Our family of 3 really enjoyed Hotel Rosita. It was safe, convenient, and relaxing stay for a week. The hotel is right next to the Malecon. The pool was nice and the staff were very accommodating. The only downside to staying in this area is that there are many people trying to constantly sell you stuff.

Great location and decent rooms, it is the first hotel in PV so it is aged but everything has been great

We’ve been coming to this hotel for 5 or 6 years and have always enjoyed it primarily for the older cultural ambiance. It is decidedly not modern but reflects the traditions of old Mexico which we enjoy and love. As one of the oldest hotels in Puerto Vallarta, it does have limitations but we’ve always felt that the positives have outweighed the negatives. The rooms are large as is the bathrooms. There’s generally a refrigerator but no other kitchen amenities. The rooms have always been very clean and the beds are firm and very comfortable. There’s a pitcher and free drinking water in the hallway. We have never ever had bedbugs here. The ocean view rooms have incredible views. And a deck with table and chairs. The lobby is spacious and service is generally good. The location is dynamite as soon as you step out, you’re at the Malacon and that’s hard to beat given the price for this place. Some problems is that it’s dated though they just replaced their elevators. The pool is small and can get crowded. There’s no microwave or hot pot or coffee pot. The front desk will provide an iron or hairdryer if you ask for it. The “free” continental breakfast consists of weak coffee, stale bread, very hard cantaloupe, and sugary orange juice. Actually it’s pretty awlful!!!! Today, when we went down for our breakfast, they only served my wife even though I was sitting there and we had to ask several times before they even gave me anything!!! I had my band on and they looked at me like “so what”? Very, very odd and offensive. We’re still here and still like it despite the shortcomings!!

Pros: 1. Location: The hotel is in an excellent location, right next to the Malecon 2. Amenities in the Room: The rooms include air conditioning. 3. Restaurant: The on-site restaurant offers meals at affordable price. Cons: 1. Lack of Basic Amenities: • There is no fridge, kettle and coffee/tea, or hairdryer in the rooms, which are typically standard in other hotels. • The hotel provides a hairdryer only upon request at the front desk, but it’s poorly designed(the smallest hairdryer I’ve ever seen ) and overheats after 30 seconds and takes 5 minutes to cool down, making it nearly impossible to dry long hair efficiently. • There’s no shower gel, only shampoo and a small bar of dry soap. 2. Breakfast: • The included breakfast is very minimal: just coffee, bread with butter, and a small piece of fruit. So no sense to pay for it when you book a room. It doesn’t provide enough value, and it’s better to order a proper breakfast from the restaurant for an additional cost. 3. Tea and Kettle Issue: • When I got sick and needed tea in the evening after the bar closed, there was no kettle available even at the front desk. The security guards eventually shared their own boiling water, so if you need the hot water there is a big challenge. Conclusion: The hotel offers decent quality for its price, especially considering the excellent location and affordable restaurant. However, the lack of basic amenities like a proper hairdryer, kettle, and shower gel, as well as the disappointing breakfast, detracts from the overall experience.

Great stay for families. It's on the Malecon and on the beach. There's plenty of stores/shops around as well as restaurants. The location is very convenient to check out the Malecon and nearby areas by foot. The pool is also great for families and the rooms are clean/well taken care of considering the cheaper rates. I would recommend again.

This hotel is everything! Perfect location right at the beginning of the Malecon. Near restaurants, shops, Starbucks, and McDonald's. The rooms are spacious, and this hotel is the closest to the beach of any that I'm aware of. Large wrap around balcony in select rooms. Huge windows that open and slide glass doors, ceiling fans, smart TV, fridge, and safe. This room had a large California king bed and 2 singles. The one single bed was extremely hard, so I shared the king bed. The pillows aren't great, but they will bring you additional ones. The only complaint is I don't think the tile floors are ever mopped. Your feet will be black when you shower from the dirt on the floor. Next time I come back, I'm going to request that the floor be mopped. Otherwise, it is a fantastic hotel with an ok restaurant, smallish pool and lounge area, but sufficient for my needs.

We stayed 5 nights in early March of 2024 ..... a quaint (old) Mexican place on the north end of the Malecon! Excellent Pina Coladas, free breakfast was weak, if you get it, lots of rules!! Front Ocean view rooms are great (most expensive), city view are thumbs down (cheaper). We had a good time, most everyone was friendly. They've been at it a long time so they know how to run a hotel. Rooms had everything you needed. I'd go again for a few days.
